I'm not u/alabomb but I like doing the Masked Carnivale challenges each week and their guides really help. Seeing as they haven't posted one yet this week, I wanted to share how I took on each challenge.
Weekly Target C
Reward: 3,000 gil + 100 Allied Seals + 80 Allagan Tomestones of Poetics
09. To Kill a Mockingslime
Recommended spells: Glower, Off-guard, Peculiar Light, Song of Torment, Bristle, Flying Sardine
Your standard Weekly Target C challenge - clear the fight with no strings attached. Remember to silence Golden Tongue on both the boss and the adds.
Weekly Target B
Reward: 5,000 gil + 150 Allied Seals + 120 Allagan Tomestones of Poetics
11. Some Like It Excruciatingly Hot
Beginner Spellcasting - Cast only rank 1 or 2 spells
Recommended spells: Flying Sardine, Drill Cannons
Beginner Spellcasting makes it so that we can't use Sticky Tongue to bring the bombs together, so we'll have to make do with positioning correctly and using Drill Cannons line them up together.
In the second act, running around and using Flying Sardine to bunch up the bombs while making sure they don't finish their cast, then using Drill Cannons to hit them all at once is a safe way to take care of all the bombs.
Weekly Target A
Reward: 10,000 gil + 300 Allied Seals + 240 Allagan Tomestones of Poetics
12. The Plant-om of the Opera
Too Fast, Too Furious - Completed performance faster than the ideal time
10 Ways to Die - Use ten or fewer unique spell types
Recommended Spells: Ice Spikes, Water Cannon, Off-guard, Bristle, Peculiar Light, Song of Torment, White Wind
The recommended spells above was my personal loadout for this challenge. Feel free to toss in 2 additional spells of your liking. I used Shock Strike and Glass Dance.
First act is super simple. Ice Spikes then Water Cannon one of the plants to clear the act.
In the second act, you have to DPS Hydnora down using Water Cannon as well as keeping Off-guard and Song of Torment up as much as you can. When Hydnora spawns the plant adds around the arena, use Ice Spikes similarly to the first act to reflect damage back to the adds. Keep your HP up with White Wind.
